Carol Lurie, Town Planner
Carol Lurie Town Planner and Parent Volunteer Carol helped plan and implement the project. |
Each group developed a different section of the imaginary town we created. At the outset, we designed the whole town so that the sections or neighborhoods would fit together. In this photo, Carol stops an argument as kids plan the map of the town as a whole. |
Carol and her company had been hired by the town of Arlington to design the renovation of an area of the town called Arlington Heights. At the time of the project, the plan had already been implemented and the renovation completed. Carol brought in a model of the plan made by her company and in the photo above, students are looking at this model trying to identify places in the town. They asked how the model was made because they knew they were about to create a similar kind of model, but of an imaginary town. |
